Increases in suggested Playground User Contribution from 1st November 2024
As always, if our Playground User Contributions cause you any difficulties please ask to speak, in confidence, with a Erin at Reception, we will always strive to find a happy compromise.
Parents, carers and siblings under 2 years old will continue to be free.
The Trustees have taken the difficult decision to increase our suggested Playground User Contributions. We know that we are all struggling, and we have held off any increases as long as we can. We will continue to work hard to fundraise and keep the contributions as low as possible for you in these uncertain times, we hope that you will bear with us.
The contribution for each child or adult with disabilities will be £14 per session
The contribution for an all day session will be £20 per child / adult with disabilities
We have introduced a special Family pass for those coming with 3 or more children (applies only to immediate family members).
A Family pass will be £35 per session
An all day Family pass will be £50
TVAP CIO is a unique Charity, originally founded in 1979 to provide a range of adventurous, therapeutic and educational play activities for children and adults with disabilities, mild or profound.
The voluntary Board of Trustees of the CIO operate the Thames Valley Adventure Playground just outside Maidenhead providing a safe, caring and stimulating Playful learning environment where families and individuals are supported in their play and enjoy some much needed respite.
The TVAP CIO supports children and adults with varied additional needs as well as the families and carers of the special person they care for. The TVAP is an inclusive play space and we welcome siblings, friends of the child with additional needs and children from the local community to come and join in the fun and experience a special TVAP play day.
Maybe when we think of a playground we think of slides and swings, maybe a sand pit? But to our beneficiaries we are so much more - not only special equipment and appropriate resources but also a supportive place to play and be safe. TVAP is friendship and respect and a real chance to get out, as a family, as an individual or as a group and have some fun and make happy memories together.
TVAP is one of those rare places where you can just be yourself and relax, without fear of judgment or negativity, a special place where there is absolutely no pressure to 'fit in' or pretend, where everyone is accepted and valued for who they are, regardless of abilities and no one really has to explain themselves - everyone just 'gets it’ and gets on with it!'
To our beneficiaries we are often called a lifeline.
To see our visiting families enjoying an all-too-rare opportunity to play together is truly heartwarming.
